Register now to attend the virtual ARCH Workshop, "Hands-On with Jetstream2: Deploying AI and Accelerating Research in the Cloud" hosted by Jared McLean.
Brief Description
This workshop will present the NSF Jetstream2 cloud computing resource that can be leveraged to support a comprehensive set of scientific research use cases, including AI. Attendees will get hands-on experience using Jetstream2, and we will walk through deploying an LLM.
Prerequisites
Basic familiarity with command-line interfaces and an interest in cloud-based computing are helpful but not required. This workshop is designed to be accessible to researchers and practitioners from a range of backgrounds, including those new to cloud environments or AI workflows.
Datasets and tools
Participants will be introduced to the Jetstream2 cloud platform and its user interface, with a guided walkthrough of deploying a large language model (LLM). Example datasets and pre-configured environments will be provided for hands-on activities. No pre-installation is necessary.
Expected Outcomes
Understand the capabilities and structure of the Jetstream2 cloud system. Gain hands-on experience launching and managing cloud-based resources. Learn how to deploy a large language model (LLM) in a research setting. Be prepared to explore Jetstream2 for their own AI and scientific computing needs
